What is Reptile Lineage?

Reptile Lineage is designed to help breeders and enthusiasts alike track reptile and amphibian bloodlines.

For Breeders

Reptile Lineage allows breeders to tag their animals with specific traits. Breeders can then search for similar animals, or ones posessing traits they would like to incorporate into their own bloodlines.

For Enthusiasts

Reptile Lineage lets enthusiasts search for their ideal animal in a variety of ways to ensure they find the best one. Whether your looking for the brightest colors, the best personaility, or something else, we aim to be the best place to search for it.

What's Coming

Reptile Lineage is a new site and is still in development. The following features can be expected in the coming weeks:

• Top Breeders:
  The top breeders section will list breeders with the most animals and photos posted, and those that are most active on the site.
• Animal Manager - Animal Lineages:
  Most of the code is in place for animal lineages (parents, children, siblings, and proven mates), however this is not yet surfaced in the animal manager.

• Communication:

  • Forums:
    Forums attached to animal breeder and user pages to better facilitate user communication.

  • Collaboration:

    • Intra-User Mail:
      Users of the reptile lineage site will be able to send mail to one another in order to make directed comments without revealing their email address - this will help to avoid spam while allowing users to communicate effectively.
    • Breeder Pages:
      Breeder pages will be enhanced to take advantage of rendering aspects of animal groups defined by breeders.
    • Animal Groups and Watchlists:
      In order to facilitate better breeder pages, animal groups will be added as a categorization mechanism to group different species and morphs when someone views their page. Animal watchlists will be added to allow you to integrate animals that belong to other breeders into your animals' lineage.
    • Authorization Messages:
      When breeders attempt to add lineages involving the animals of other breeders' already in our system authorization will be required by the second breeder before making the linking being seen by other users.
• Pedigrees:
  Pedigrees will facilitate transfers of animals from one user to another.
• Search:
  Users will be ability to tag animal traits so that other users can search and screen animal traits.
• Animal Auctions:
  Escrow based animal auctions to provide the security lacking with many small breeders.
• Advanced Breeder Tools:
  More advanced breeder tools such as breeder-only screening tools based around animal genetics and pattern recognition techniques will be incorporated into the site when it is converted into a showcase site of a new database currently under development by Novorum Inc.
